--ACBSP Accreditation Evaluator Training (Part 1) |
This is the first part of a two-part session designed for persons who are currently evaluators for accreditation or who would like to be evaluators. It is foundational training focusing on the standards and criteria and the site visit process. Additional training at an annual conference is often required. These sessions are open to schools considering accreditation and seeking to learn more about the process and site visit activity. The presenter is Steve Parscale, ACBSP Director of Accreditation. |

Business schools are being asked to gather and provide data that demonstrates that their faculty are qualified and that their students are learning. SEDONA is a self-service web application being used by colleges and universities aroung the world that supports these initiatives. In this session, we will discuss 1) the Assurance of Learning life cycle, 2) web surveys to constituents, 3) scorecards for benchmarking academically and professionally qualified faculty, and 4) faculty qualifications reports based on customizable parameters. |

In response to a Call for Presentations, Region 3 members will be making three presentations describing how their school or business program has confronted a challenge and how those challenges were overcome to achieve new levels of success. The deadline to submit a proposed presentation is September 20. One presentation at this meeting will be selected for presentation at the ACBSP 2008 Annual Meeting in New Orleans. |

An ETS representative will discuss the array of ETS assessment tools designed to help business schools measure the knowledge and skills critical for success in today’s global business environment. In this session, you’ll learn about the ETS Major Field Tests in Business and MBA, the new Major Field Test for Associate Degree Business programs, and the use of the GRE General Test for Graduate Business School admissions. |

The meeting will include a report from various officers, election of new officers, and announcements about the 2008 Conference. This will be an open forum for announcements. |
--Facilitated Discussion—Business Related Degree Programs |
A proposal is being considered by ACBSP governing boards would offer a new accreditation for these programs. Members from Region 3 and ACBSP staff will lead a discussion to explain what is being proposed and to receive your feedback. |
--Awards |
We will recognize and acknowledge the recipients of the 2007 Wal-Mart Teaching Excellence Award from our region and present other awards for service to Region 3. |
